- Work Centers represent a fundamental concept in manufacturing and production operations. “Work Centers” are defined as tools used to divide the manufacturing area into several subareas or zones. This concept differs from the concepts of production lines and manufacturing stages.
- Work Centers enable better and more efficient organization of manufacturing operations. One work center can contain several different manufacturing stages or production lines, and work is organized in each center according to its unique needs.
- This means that a work center can combine a variety of manufacturing activities under one roof. These activities may be related to multiple stages of the manufacturing process or multiple production lines.
